Part 1   Old District Textures
In this artwork, I want to share with you the OLD DISTRICT TEXTURES in a city like Hong Kong, we tend to forget what basic means and often get swallowed by the constant changes surrounding us. Therefore, I want to showcase the basic forms, basic materials, basic colours, even the simple imagery in my Drawings.

Part 2   Childhood Happy Memories

In this artwork, it shows that some of my ideas / concepts can be represent and bring out the childhood happy memories. And in my creative process, it has three major ideas as following: Amusement, Aftertaste and Share.

“Art / Design is not the end goal. It is simply a tool to help us connect to our communities and make a difference.” (Poynor, 2006)

Through this work of making, researching, theorizing. I have come to understand that the Best Memories: Childhood happy recollection is about me as much as the perception of the Hong Kong Kidult in 70’s, and my own work to reclaim and represent concepts of knowledge and art in the world. Last but not least, I hope this artwork will have some visual messages to you. Enjoy!

Motivation

In the past few years, I have travel to difference cities and try to explore the ideas in there. And in result, it makes me outcome a really personal visual diary to record my “Memories”. It express my feeling in love, sex, pressure, anxious, happiness, sunset, nightmare, alcohol, headache etc. And I hope to spend 1-2 months (Artist in Residency) in Thailand. Try to develop those ideas into the Conceptual Drawings.

Base on the upper reasons, it strike me feel interest to investigate the Art Project that is relate to my memories. The topic as below:

And because of my previous experience in Educational Sector, I would like to conduct the Workshops, Events or Open Studio to the public within that two months. Especially the targets are the University / High School Students.

Ecology and Environment: "What We See" the Air Pollution in China

Part 1   Air pollution series-Sick leave day
Sick leave day is a series about air pollution, the work describes the personal body reaction which brought by the rapid urban development; the work interacts with both images and text, indicates the air pollution issue for people has reached an intolerable threatened point.

Part 2   Air pollution series-Kunming City, Half the Sky
Kunming City, Half the Sky is a series of extend concept works about air pollution. Artist is trying to play a tourist role and photograph the urban city with iPhone. The series of work mainly use a photographic diary ways to record the relationship between Kunming urban development and its air quality.
Artists will use two weeks, 14 photos, to capture the city and its half sky background, causing the viewer to reflect on the rapid city development behind, Kunming citizen need to pay a heavy cost for this air pollution. The artist leaves half of the sky for you to think about your future.

Transforming Found Objects into Contemporary Visual / Media Art
Description:

In my visual artwork, it shows that some of my ideas / concepts can be represent and bring out the childhood happy memories. And in my creative process, it has three major ideas as following: Amusement, Aftertaste and Share

As a Graphic Designer, Design Lecturer and Visual Artist like me, I would like to outcome a Visual / Media Artwork can be affect the perception of the Hong Kong audience, mainly Kidult like me. Base on the upper reason, it strike me feel interest to investigate the Visual / Media Art Project that is relate to the childhood found objects. Especially investigate the theory of the contemporary artists using the found objects to transform it into the Visual / Media Artwork.
