Objective of the research
Harmony, the concept of Chinese art, life and civilization. The Yin/Yang theory, which unifies both opposing and complementary force, is creation given balance. It is also the discipline of the Chinese poster. In China, people are as aware of harmony as oxygen, evolution or gravity. It is the natural way to think and believe, as unquestionable as water to a fish. But, how about the people beside Chinese? If they just consider it as a symbol or icon. Is it reasonable?
Therefore, the major objective of this research is concerned with the communicative effectiveness in Yin/Yang theory of the Chinese poster in an international environment. In it, I will attempt to analyse Yin/Yang theory of the Chinese poster. Also, I will make it easily understandable, and for the benefit of an international audience, explain the meaning of the layout and graphic elements used in Chinese posters.
